Health & Safety

Policy

The health and safety philosophy of the Cube Group of companies is contained in this statement by the Director responsible to the Board for matters of Health and Safety Policy.

The Group consists of Cube Support Services, Cube Catering Services, Cube Electrical Services and Cube Learning and Development.

Work activities will be conducted so as to ensure the health, safety and welfare of our employees and of our clients, visitors, contractors and members of the public. This is based on six fundamental beliefs.

  • Our business will thrive if we maintain for all our employees a safe, healthy and risk managed environment.
  • Work related accidents should be regarded as being preventable.
  • All Directors and Managers are responsible and accountable for ensuring high standards of health and safety and must be proactive in demonstrating our commitment to health and safety.
  • All members of staff are involved in ensuring continuous improvement in health and safety and must co-operate and support management in ensuring our high standards of health and safety are met.
  • Risk assessment and accident prevention must be integrated into our business activities.
  • Operational Directors should undertake regular site visits and audit implementation of the procedures with these policies.

Health and Safety Policy

The principles by which we operate are:

  • Health and safety is the responsibility of us all.
  • All Directors and managers are accountable for implementation of policies and procedures and in leading continuous improvements in the management of health and safety.
  • All employees are required to comply with legislation and company policy at all times and to cooperate with the arrangements that support this policy to achieve a healthy and safe working environment.
  • Supervisors and managers will achieve competency in areas of health and safety specific to the business.
  • Risk assessments will be carried out for all areas of our business, by nominated individuals.
  • Employees will be given clear instructions on all aspects of their work.
  • Regular and rigorous audits of compliance and workplace inspections will take place by nominated managers. Appropriate action will be taken to rectify any hazards identified.
  • Co-operation, communication and consultation are an essential element in the promotion of our health and safety philosophy. We will ensure adequate organisational arrangements are in place for active consultation and communication at all levels within our organisation on matters that affect their health and safety.
  • Ensure a robust procedure is in place for the approval, appointment, control and review of the health and safety performance and practices of contractor and sub-contractors.
