Project: Replacement of Electrical Eng. Building Low Voltage Switchboard

This project consisted of the replacement of the main low voltage switchgear within the ground floor switch room of the Leeds University Electrical Engineering Building. The project was complicated by the fact many of the existing large power circuits were old MICC cables and not identified. Through vigorous investigation, exploratory works and liaison with many university departments, Cube were able to successfully transfer all power supply circuits to the new switchgear with no unplanned power outages.

Working with clients nominated switchboard manufacturer, the project was successfully completed in 8 weeks with the outage periods limited to a week for each of the 2 main switch board sections. Cube has since been appointed to replace similar switchgear for a project in the ISS Building.
